Surveying and land forming design technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage land surveying and designs from inception to completion.
• Develop project plan with land forming engineer. Timelines, and cost tracking and ensure adheres to these parameters.
• Coordinate with land forming engineer to ensure seamless integration of survey data into project designs.
• Oversee and review the collection, analysis, and interpretation of survey data to ensure accuracy and precision in land forming designs.
• Implement land forming designs to meet companies/farmers requirements, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Utilize advanced survey technologies, such as GPS, GIS, Glonass and Trimble Field Level II and OptiSurface software to produce detailed maps, models and designs.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team that will foster a collaborative and innovative work environment and encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide ongoing feedback to the team.
• Implement best practices and quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of design outputs.
• Keep abreast of advancements in surveying and land forming technologies and methodologies, incorporating them into teams’ practices as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for company/farmers, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes in scope of work.
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with company/farmers.
• Prepare and present detailed reports, maps, equipment, fuel usage, hours worked and keep record of all data and designs. Further summit to HR monthly hours worked of the team.
• Ensure all field work and design activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety and environmental standards.
• Physical requirements – working in outdoor environments on active land forming sites in various weather conditions.

• As the surveying and land forming design technician you will oversee the planning, execution, and management of all land surveying and land forming activities.
• The role is responsible for ensuring that land forming is designed and executed according to precise specification as set out by your land forming agricultural engineer and survey manager.
